Trying not to be disappointed with the fact that it's been almost a week and no one (at least, none of my followers) has commented on my previous post.
I really was asking because I want to know how I'm supposed to respond, and not in a way unfitting someone in my position. Wasn't trying to provoke. Wasn't calling names or calling anyone out, saying, "look at what a jerk this person is." Nope, just wanted to know how to co-exist in a place where I know I don't fit in.
The only comments I got are from some unknown blogger without any posts of her own (and nothing but insults for me) and Julie (who isn't on blogger at all). [Thanks Julie!!]
So I wonder why this is.
Easy answers: Too boring of a question? Everyone is busy? They're still thinking of an answer?
Self-loathing answers: Everyone else has lives of their own and bigger fish to fry? It's too serious of a question and no one wants to talk about it (i.e. I should be writing about 'fun' things instead)? Um, no one reads this blog anyway so what do I expect?
Well, Estelle, what do you think? You're the only one who has spoken an opinion. Am I tedious, self-important and irrelevant, in addition to being delusional? And why in the world are YOU reading my blog anyway? Can't be for any (intended) spiritual content [you see I'm getting really self-effacing now].
Maybe I should take this as a sign and pack it up. Of the things I could write about - things on my mind all the time - I can't. Of the things I can put on here, no response.

Dearest Victoria...I just actually read this post late last night and really wanted to think on it before responding.
My 1st thought is "Do not cast your pearls before swine"! However...on 2nd thought...
2nd...PRAY...ask the Holy Spirit to do the work He was sent to do and convict them of their sin and draw them to repentance.
3rd....be there for them. As Julee said...they WILL have problems and a simple "I will pray" can really speak to their hearts. "Let your light so shine before men..."
"Love your enemies, bless those that curse you (or your God), do good to those who hate you..."
"You will be hated by all for My name's sake..."
4th...do not be surprised at their disdain for our God...most of the world feels that way...they just might not express it so vehemently.
"If the world hates you, you know that it hated Me before it hated you. If you were of the world, the world would love it's own..."Jn 15:18
And to those who say they do not believe in God...His Word says..."His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made (creation), even His eternal power and Godhead, SO THAT THEY ARE WITHOUT EXCUSE, because although they KNEW God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened." Romans 1:20-21
In other words, ALL MEN KNOW THAT GOD EXISTS.
Let God be true and every man a liar...
Cindy
Cindy, thank you for your comments. You have said in greater detail the turmoil of emotions I feel when listening to God-hating talk... first it's anger, then sadness, then regret, disbelief, then complete understanding, then back to sadness.
Thank you for your scriptural reminders. --Victoria
I am so sorry - I told you I would comment and the last 4 days have been a blur... i was out of town and could not get to it before i left - as it is i am typing one handed
Ok - two hands now but limited time...
First of all, I am praying for you.
Secondly, I do have this funny, obnoxious thing that I do when people take Gods name in vain, I say, "Oh, he is to be praised isn't He?" It makes me laugh and gives them a deer in the headlights look!
It is sickening when people hate God, I mean that, I get sick to my stomach it makes me so sad when they are so vocal about it.
You're a really smart person - Estelle calling you delusional is hilarious. It's hard when you are trying to be kind to represent your faith but you know that if you unleashed yourself you could slaughter someone like that with your mouth or keyboard rather...she should be grateful you have such self control. Really.
Stephanie and Cindy have said so much I would just be repeating their words... so, I never say this but, "hang in there"
THe simplest thing you could do when they mock Christ is to tell them you find their mockery very offensive - darn, I gotta go again... sorry...
>Am I tedious, self-important and irrelevant, in addition to being delusional?
I don't know about the first two, but if you believe something that isn't true, then you are disillusioned.
Nobody hates or despises "god" - a god would have to exist for that to happen. However, they may well feel contemptuous about those who believe that such an entity exists.
Farmgirl's advice is very practical and functional I DON'T THINK!!! Praying to your invisible friend in the sky may give some feeling of smug short term satisfaction, but it won't actually change anything in practice. But you could always try it and see if it works...
I am so sorry to take up more of your space, but I meant to also pick up a point about the euphemism of "witnessing" in the work place.
To those of us who have seen the light and have discarded religious superstition, then what you call "witnessing" is to us "preaching", "indoctrinating" or even attempting to "shove down our throats" something that we find offensive and unacceptable.
I think the best advice that you have so far had is from Bonjour Madame in your last post. If I may interpret it, she was saying something like shut up, get on with the work you are paid to do and mind your own business. If they like the example you set, your colleagues may then approach you to enquire about how you are able to lead such a righteous life.
Why do I come here? I found it by accident when I was googling and felt that I could make a point. Nothing more sinister than that, I'm afraid.
Victoria, I read the earlier post a fwe days ago but being on the road I usually don't post comments because I only carry a Blackberry instead of a laptop ( I found it easier these days to travel light as possible) and I'm not very adept to a phone keyboard. Don't get discouraged, blog away. If I may make a suggestion......you could try putting a "Stumbleupon " widget on your post. With the right tag, it might draw like minded readers.
I'm here! I'm here! Need to read last post and catch up...
Estelle, you feel contemptuous about me just believing in God, even if I never saw anything about Him to you? That is fascinating, and seems remarkably selfish. Why are you entitled to your beliefs (i.e. that God doesn't exist) but I'm not to mine?
And... my sincere apologies for writing that no one has responded to these posts. They have actually yielded the most response all year!
May I ask if you are a little paranoiac, as well as deluded?
I didn't quite say that I feel contemptuous of you; I said:
they may well feel contemptuous about those who believe...,
referring, of course, to your workmates and fundamentalists in general.
What did I say that makes me seem paranoid? If you were on this side (being a Christian in a non-Christian environment) you'd understand that the hatred is very, very real. That's all I'm saying.
