Say Thank You to the Troops

Hello all,

Here is a link to a site where you can send personalized cards to soldiers currently serving overseas. The cards were designed by U.S. schoolchildren. You pick the design you like, add a pre-printed message or write your own, and Xerox prints and sends a shipment of them out to U.S. soldiers every day until Christmas.

What better was to show your appreciation and say Merry Christmas to those serving in a country where open displays of celebrating Christmas are not allowed, unless on a military base (which has m.p.s)? They may not get to have a tree, but at least this way they'll get a message of thanks and Christmas well-wishes while they're away from their families.

I sent quite a few. I don't think it matters how many you send... I sent four I think. Why not take 5 minutes and send a dozen? I guess that means I should send some more!

Thank you for this link - we are always trying to teach the kids to say thank you to soldiers when we see them in public - this will be fun to show them.

Thank you! I'm a bit of an insomniac tonight so this is perfect. I can send some cards. I have to fight back tears when I'm in an airport and see these young men shipping off in their uniforms. They are all so young, yet so brave!

Thank you for participating, ladies (and children)! I know my brothers and friends in the military really do appreciate being told they're supported and loved.

Even when our media is bs about it, even when our pres is wishy washy about objectives.. it's good to know someone appreciates those serving.

Over Thanksgiving I talked with an Army friend about his seeing very young men serving overseas. Even HE was crying a little... it's hard not to think about the reality of it all.. I pray they are protected.

Yes, they are so brave and they need our prayers! I look at their faces and think they are more of a man than those fools in congress who are mucking up our country could ever hope to be. They are what makes this country great and safe. Not the snobs in D.C.

P.S. Thanks for the compliments on the new look of my blog!
